No problem as all the manufacturers that produce such publications have been doing it for years anyway!

Just remember the caveat with giving out service info Andy. 😉
So far as I know this applies as Z told me to never hand out anything other than parts info to a member of teh public, as in no wiring diagrams etc. in case we or they got sued.

Hmmm. I’ve never seen anything in one that says, “not to be sold to members of public” or similar. Also, wouldn’t the writers of the manual be responsible as it’s “their” instructions” that were being followed?
This is another minefield innit?

Yep.
I actually picked up the Graham Dixon books to see how Haynes get away with it and, it’s blatently obvious how, there’s no real specific information besides a few bits, it’s all theory. Although they are pretty good to be fair.

Just phone a few of the manufacturers as a member of the public and ask if you can buy one …… :con:

It can’t be copyright infringement to sell a product that’s produced by them specifically for sale. only to copy them.

.They were “pretty good” about 10 years ago but they still sell them now and they are almost totally out of date and next to useless now. They contain instructions on how to strip a Hoover motor and drum bearings (the old 1100’s) and how to strip and repair a pump etc. They have little information useful for any washing machine made in last 10 years.
They are still specific enough in the sence that they give step by step instructions and photos K. They may avoid being specific on the electrical side a bit, but someone could still forget to unplug machine before working on it for mechanical faults or otherwise injure themselves. I expect they are just covered by insurance.
