    Hi,

We had a call to this machine today making a clicking noise. We found the base of the cabinet where the right hand shock absorber bolts on has cracked and is moving. I remember on the old 95 range you could buy a plate to bolt in and just wondered if there is anything like this for this machine.

    Thanks,
    Ray

Hi the new shock absorbers come with a new plate that the nut screws through.

Unless you mean the cabinet base has completely rusted through?

that’s scrap needs a new case

the bolts on the shocks are not long enough to add washers so its a lost cause

Fitted dozens of C00309597 kits to cure cracks similar to this without any issues.

have had a couple that failed soon after but if its cheap enough may be worth a gamble

you would have thought they would have learnt this lesson from the 90’s but I suppose all that knowledge has retired

Ahh – Stiffning brackets to the rescue! When life was simple and HP bearings took < 30mins.

The worst Merloni I came across recenly had to be re-drilled futher back on the cabinet and the suspension plastic pins mounted on the adjacent tank mounting.

I didnt know the new shocks came with repair plates. I have fitted a penny washer on the base and have been back to one of the machines a couple of years on and still going strong.

    Yes, good tip Wilf.

I fit a penny washer when the crack is just starting or when I have removed the damper for another job such as bearings. If the crack is bad (rental customers keep washing until it stops) then the damper repair kit sorts it.
