We have a Hotpoint Ultima oven and induction hob, purchased in March 2016. The tag inside gives the model as HUI611X. The problem is that the two right-hand hot areas have stopped working and show a continuing flashing ‘F5’ symbol. The instruction manual supplied only gives some limited details for the operation of the ceramic hob and surprisingly none for the induction hob. The Hotpoint web site only has the instruction manual for the ceramic hob version and none that I can find for the induction hob.

Can anyone tell me how to correct the flashing ‘F5’ issue if this is possible or what the problem is or maybe you have tracked down an instruction manual for the induction hob?

    Thanks in anticipation.

F5 is a communication error between the boards inside the unit

suggestion is to turn off at the wall, wait 10 secs then turn on again

if the fault is still there you need an engineer

    Dave,

Thanks for your post. Turning it off at the wall does cancel the fault but, alas, it does return! I’ve got a 10yr parts warranty on the cooker so for the cost of a Hotpoint engineer, I can get the power boards replaced. Do you know if there are one or two in this model?

    Thanks Again

    without looking it up
most units power 2 rings off one board
    so 4 rings = 2 boards

but there will also be a control board so its the communication between the control and the power board on one side. it could be as simple as a loose lead or a board change

Just for reference, I had same fault on my HUI614 where the two right hand induction hobs had stopped working.

Hotpoint engineer replaced the main board which he told me drives all four hobs, and that fixed the fault.

I have extended warranty on parts and labour.
