    Hello

Are there any gas cookers that use a battery for the ignition rather than having to hardwire or plug into a socket?

I can only find one – Hotpoint HAG51P or HAG51K – same model just different colour I believe.

Are such types of battery ignition cookers being phased out?

    Thanks

is there any reason why it has to be battery ignition.

to be battery ignition it would have to be a very basic cooker as any ancillary parts are normally electric. even if it has an oven lamp would need to be plugged in

    Hi

It just means I can replace my existing one’s setup like for like and not need to worry about plugging it into a nearby socket and have an unsightly cable about.

I’m not concerned about other ancillary functions like oven lamp or timer.

    Thanks again
