Strut Blocking Door interlock removal

Hi, I am looking to replace the door interlock on my Samsung WD0804W8E Washer dryer. I have removed the door seal and the screws for the lock. All other models I have seen then require pushing in from the outside so you remove it. This one also has a slide on plastic cover which I have removed, but there are two things that get in the way of then removing the lock –
There is a lip on the left hand side of plastic external edge which stops you pushing it straight through. It looks like you should push it out at an angle from the right so the lip fits through the gap, but inside the interlock hits the vertical metal strut at the edge of the machine on the right and so won’t move more than a couple of mm. Any suggestions would be good. Tried uploading a couple of pictures but the size limits were so small it wouldn’t let post.
