    Hoover Vision washing machine. Knob for program doesnt always come up with correct program ie if I have used a 60 wash and then next time want a short 30 wash it still goes back to the 60. It can be sorted by turning knob back to off a few times. Is this the brain/pcb or is it the knob/dial that is faulty?

    its most likely the programme selector switch. on some machines its separate and on others its part of the control board

    on the ones that are part of the board some engineers have said switch cleaner seems to help but that would mean removing the board as you don’t want to spray it every where and you don’t want to use too much

    would need all the model info off the label including the long number to check how your switch is supplied

    Thanks Dave, have ordered it. Hopefully that sorts it. When I work out how to put it on lol.

    Well after much consternation as new bit didnt look like the old part, we tried it anyway. Bingo! It fits and works. Great forum with excellent advice. Many Thanks Dave.
