ParticipantMy fridge keeps changing temperature without me touching it, it keeps bleeping constantly and is really annoying. I disconnected the fridge sensor from the top of the fridge to see if was that but it is still bleeping. The error code E8 is showing on the display, it says on the back of the control module that E8 is an ice sensor fault, could this be whats causing it? I was thinking it was more to do with a faulty circuit board as the E8 fault code has been displayed for years and it never caused the temperature of the fridge to fluctuate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Moderatorthe E08 code has to do with the ice maker so should not affect anything else
is the beeping to do with temp regulation, have you checked temps?
have you tried a total defrost, switch off, door open for 2 days ?

ParticipantThanks for your help, no i have not checked the temperature or tried a total defrost, its weird the temperature keeps jumping between 2-4-6-8 and even jumps in to the vacation setting sometimes. Sometimes when I press the temperature button it does nothing and does not change anything, thats what was making me think it was a problem with the circuit board.

Moderatordoes sound like a board problem
main board is here
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/4335650185-fridge-freezer-control-modulebut the problem in all these faults is if there is more then one board which one is it
I would find the main board and while the unit is switched off remove and replace all the connectors. Its a long shot but its free

ParticipantWhen your looking at the PCB/s also check for bad soldering and Domed tops or Bulged bodies on the Electrolytic capacitors, they can all cause these sort of weird problems.

ParticipantI replaced the ice sensor and that fixed the e08 code. I replaced the main pcb board as well but now every time i try to adjust the temperature on the fridge between 2-8 degrees, it lasts for a couple of seconds and then jumps back to the vacation setting. The fridge seems to be stuck on this setting because it seems quite warm inside it, any other suggestions on what it could be?

Moderatori found that too. its no where to be seen
suggest you email Howdens Joinery who will have supplied it and ask for it. checked their site and they dont list it
some of the dates i am seeing against some bulletins suggest its well over 10 years old
