Hi,
we have two corner spaces 620mm wide in which we would like to install a free-standing fridge and a free-standing freezer. We have really struggled to find an appliance that ticks all the boxes – high capacity, quiet, safe, efficient, black (or brushed stainless steel), good rating/reviews – and I wonder if anyone here has had a similar challenge or can suggest a solution.
Both spaces are on the same wall with a large dresser in between. We like this Samsung fridge and freezer which are ‘cabinet fit’ although it looks like they require a 50mm gap each side. 🙁 It doesn’t have to be a separate fridge and freezer so we could go with a fridge-freezer at either end although the space on the right has less depth due to a radiator pipe. We can move the dresser to the right to create a larger space that can take two appliances or an American style unit. The Samsung units linked to above can be fitted side-by-side but the 50mm gap puts the kaibosh on that for the space available (although, looking at the manual the gap between the two when fitted side-by-side is a lot less than 50mm). Ideally, we would like both appliances to have the same matt black colour/finish. Height is not an issue but door handles may be given the corner positions. It looks like some appliances, especially American style, require doors to open at greater than 90 degrees and that would be another issue!
Maybe there is no satisfactory solution with the space we have so I’m hoping for a small miracle here. 🙂

The best machines on the planet is Liebherr who also produce for Miele.
Liebherr only make refrigeration products no laundry or cooking of any kind in the UK. They cover all the sizes and widths with some steel ones as well. Any Liebherr stockist can order direct and the Liebherr information line know which models are on display at any dealer as well.

Thank you Don. Just starting to have a look and their side by side appliances seem promising – no mention of minimum gaps so far anyway. Great to know that we can check what’s in stock before viewing although their site says that will be in Switzerland (we’re in Scotland :)). They get a mixed bag of results on Which.
it Looks like the third drop down option is not there, this allows you to put in region. You can phone them on 03330 147 888 or any of the social media sites.
As for the Which magazine always remember the reviews are the opinions of the reviewer at that time. We sell a fair bit of Liebherr and I can honestly say there products and service are excellent.
