Hi there first post
Yesterday got home and the freezer wasn’t working. I tested the thermostat and that seems fine, took the relay/starter off gave it a bit of a shake, put it back on it worked, well for a bit. After dropping past the temp it needed the compressor to kick back in nothing happened
So last night ordered a new relay and thermal over load, put them on today and the same thing happens. It seems that if you take the relay off then put it back on it seems to work.
I’m not even sure that it is the relay that is at fault, but after digging around on the internet last night and me taking it off and it then working i thought there was a good chance it could be that.
Anyway any of you nice people out there have any idea of what the fault may be?
may has been fluke it just happened to start when it did
a lot of freezers use capacitor start motors these days if yours is one of them it may well be the capacitor
or if you are convinced it started when you took the relay off examine what you had to remove to get at the relay and work out if anything else down there may be responsible

The thing is tho it happens nearly every time I take the relay off and put it back on, the compressor kicks in and works until the temp reaches a point where it is called for and it doesn’t then kick back in
