ParticipantGreat forum you have here, and apologies for the non descriptive title.
My other half has set her heart on one of these (hope it’s ok to post the link)

My problem is I can’t find one in the UK anywhere nor anything that comes close to it.
She’s watching a couple on the US Ebay who will ship to the UK for a reasonable amount, but their electrical current will be different to ours. I think theirs is 120 AC, not sure on that.
Anyway if we went ahead and bought it, what would I need to do to get it to work in the UK.Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi
this item would work in the UK if it was used with a 240v to 110v transformer unit, dependant on the wattage of the unit depends which size transformer you will need.
as a guide a 1kva transformer that could be used is approx £70,would this then make the appliance uneconomical to purchase?.
there are already simular items that sre avaialable but may not hold a bird that big.hope this helps

Thanks Alexa and r600a.
An extra £70 for a transformer does make it a tad expensive.
I’d already emailed the seller of the one she is watching. It’s at 60 dollars now with no bids, + $60 shipping. All in all about 60-70 GBP. I’d also asked the seller about voltage prior to coming here, but they only just responded this morning with:
“It uses 3 pin plug with 120v voltage only”So it’s looking like either a George Foreman or pay an extortionate amount of money to get it shipped over here and working.
She says she doesn’t like the look of the George Foreman, women eh, what difference does it make if it cooks the meat. lol
Thanks again.
