Hello everyone, I’m glad I found this forum and hopefully can get some help from the professionals.
I’ve had this Beko tumble dryer for over 6 years. It was working perfectly until recently when it stopped producing heat. After quick research on the Internet and YouTube I’ve replaced a heater element at the back and the machine started producing heat again but it would trip RCD switch after being on for a couple of minutes. Thinking it’s a fault with the new heater element I exchanged it for another one but this time 900W (original and first replacement part were 700W). That solved everything and the dryer was like new again for a month or so. But it has started switching off after running a couple of minutes again, but this time just the machine itself would switch off not the RCD. After some further research I’ve replaced the front NTC sensor but that hasn’t changed anything. However I’ve noticed that the machine switches off on all modes except from the “10 minutes cycle”. When it does switch off on other settings all I do is switch it off at the socket and back on again and it works for another couple of minutes. If running the 10 minutes cycle it would make the usu2noice when it’s done after 10 minutes and all I have to do is press Start again and it runs for another 10 minutes. After doing this for 5-6 times the clothes are finally dry.
I’ve opened the back and cleaned it thoroughly, as well as all filters. When taking the back off I’ve noticed that there was some moisture next to the fan at the bottom and even a small puddle, which I believe shouldn’t be there.Would anyone know what might cause the machine to switch itself off?
it could be your description of “switch off ”
is it switching off ie ending the programme but the lghts stay on
or
is it switching off no power to the machine and no matter what you do it wont come back on till you turn is off and back on ?Dave

Sorry maybe I wasn’t clear enough. It switches off completely with no power to the machine (all lights go off). Only way to switch it back on is to trip the switch on the socket and then the machine comes on again.

Thank you for your response.
But it still works on a 10 minutes cycle? It works for 10 minutes, makes the usual noise when it’s done and the lights are still on. All I do is press Start button twice and it works fine for another 10 minutes and so on. 60 minutes later all clothes are dry.
If it is the board is it replaceable?
its one of those situation you would have to test
have you tried another socket ?
have you tested for power into the machine when it goes off ?

I did try another socket but same results.
I could borrow a multimeter off a friend but wouldn’t know how to test for power. If you can spare some time to explain that would be fantastic.
its rather weird that it seems to be ok on one programme but not another. the only difference may be heater load but that should not really affect it
unless
the programmes that work only use low heatits a long shot but, the board has a power supply that’s designed to power all the board requirements. if that power supply is faulty so it gives up if the board wants more power then that might answer it. low heat programmes only power one relay to get the heater going but high heat programmes use 2. That little extra power my tip it over the edge.
can you select low heat on other programmes and see what happensDave
