ParticipantHey folks,
Hoping you guys can help please!
I have a BEKO AB910S and the Freezer has stopped freezing.
The red light (exclamation mark) on the door is on.
The freezer is not freezing but it is the same temp as the fridge.
Has anyone come across this before??
I have cleaned the areas around the vents inside the rear panel and also the blades of the fan which were thick with dirt.
Would greatly appreciate your help and advice.
Many thanks.December 11, 2019 at 6:46 pm #465118electrofix

Hey Dave (and ADV)
Many thanks for responding to my post.
The situation was that the freezer section was not reaching the -18deg target. It was still cold, as was the fridge.
I let the unit defrost for 36 hours and restarted it and borrowed a thermometer to check the temps. The freezer is running at 3 to 4 degrees and the fridge is at 9 degrees.
Have you guys any idea what the cause of this might be please?
Keep up the great work and thanks again.

Moderator1 is the compressor running permanently ?
2 if yes are the fans running in the freezer when the door is closed
if yes to both then it sounds like a system fault which is faulty compressor or and gas leak

Hey Dave,
1 is the compressor running permanently ? No
2 if yes are the fans running in the freezer when the door is closed? It doesn’t seem that fans are running at all…December 13, 2019 at 2:52 pm #465124electrofix
Moderatorso I can assume from that if you put your hand on the compressor its cold ?

Moderatorright if the compressor is hot then its powered up. That means your control gear is working
from what you say it sounds like a compressor failure which is a job for a refrigeration engineer. there is a long shot. Some later compressors use a capacitor to start the motor. If these fail you get the same symptoms. Don’t know if yours has one. bit tight on time now if I think on will look it up later

Moderatorhave checked model and it does not list a capacitor
so I think you need an engineer with a possible compressor change or a new fridge
