Hello all, I hope you can help me

My dryer (has the green sticker on the back) is a couple of years old, although hardly used. Recently tried using it (weather forcing us to) and it:

    1. Starts fine
    2. within about 5 seconds of starting the program it switches from heating phase to cooling phase
    3. anywhere between 2 – 15 minutes later all lights on the control panel flash constantly

    I have:
    1. Checked that the bottle isn’t full, condenser and filter is clean
    2. Checked the pump is operating – it is, I got soaked!
    3. Checked the control module for any evidence of blown components or dry joints/burns on the trace – nothing.
    4. Fitted a new heater & stat module

…the fault still persists. Any ideas?
I wonder if this is a demo mode?

Any help you can offer would be great.

    thanks

if its a fault code not every light will flash

would nee a picture or diagram of which lights flash, which lights are either on or not

as an example horizontal light flash vertical light only the bottom one of 4 lights up this is fault 1 which is motor problem

    and so on

if its short or open circuit then you will know then your in for a good chance

that’s fantastic, thank you – I’ve since learned that my daughter has the same model, I’l be using hers as a temporary donor to test parts.

Any links on how to access the front NTC?

if you lift out the filter and look where it came out for the probe
that should tell you where it is
think you can just take the left side off but cant be certain

    Thanks Dave, I see it.

It’ll probably be tomorrow before I get the chance to test it, I’ll let you all know how I get on.

I’ve just pulled the NTC, at room temp it’s open circuit. I dropped the front of it into boiling water and it read about 18k.

After pulling it from the boiling water it stayed on 18k for about 5 – 6 seconds then went straight back to open circuit again.

    Good chance it’s this?

    All sorted!

thanks for your help Dave, it was the front NTC as per the fault code.

I had new one today. Fitted it and it’s purring away nice & toasty.

Curiosly, it too was open circuit out of the box. I guess it’s not always the sign, but hey ho.

Have a great Christmas, and thanks again.

    Jase
