we are all getting flack because of whats going on at whirlpool but how about the other manufactures. On my desk i have a door interlock from a samsung thats burnt out just the same But I dont hear any of the other manufacturers doing a recal
I agree but its all about the perceived level of risk. if a door lock burns out chances are its a hotpoint. What do they expect using a bad connector and then passing heater current through it
Beko have re worked alot of lamona branded machine with a door look problem but not burning out opening during use same manufacturer as the Hotpoint metaflex door lock;)
I agree this is not a new phenomenon. If I remember correctly, quite a few Zanussi/Tricity Bendix washing machine door locks from the early 2000s overheated, usually causing wiring damage as well.
Of all the Hopoint /Idesit machines we have sold we have only come across one machine with a door lock problem , there was only burn damage to the plug connector the lock seemed OK but we changed the lock and rewired the lock wiring So all these fires taking place seem to be quite rare as far as our company has experianced
I suppose its down to definition. if the cables have got so hot they melt insulation and fail because of excess temperature could it be called a fire or has there got to be flames
in my book its still a fire, all be it a small one, that self extinguishes in all the cases I have seen once the wire breaks
