I’ve looked at this machine where the fault is that you can set up the programme and options but there’s no response from the START pad. I assume it’s the touchpad at fault? (A) Is there a way of testing?,(B) Is there anything else that is likely? Customer says it’s been intermittant for a while, now nothing.

Nothing! I thought it could be a bad connection, but everthing seems fine.

    have you checked door switch
since it is a free standing model it may not allow the start sw to work till door is closed

Freestanding model with the controls along the top edge like an integrated model.

I have this machine at home, everytime a selection on the touch pad is made there is a beep to confirm. When the start pad is pressed it also beeps but as Dave has rightly said the machine will not start until the door is closed.

a does sound like a board problem then as it beeps to confirm its pressed even though door is open

would still check the door sw just to eliminate it

    Checked door switch, OK.
After endless tries it suddenly worked! But then touching the start button for 5 secs didn’t cancel cycle. It has to be the touch pad. Customer’s told me to install new machine!!
