My 2004 Whirlpool S20BRBB20 fridge-freezer has gone kaput… it’s stopped getting cold, and parts to repair it are no longer available.
Looking for something similar in size to replace it with, so any advice or recommendations would be helpful.

I’ve read the Buying Advice page, but it is a bit out of date as it recommends Electrolux, which don’t appear to be available in the UK any longer.

The cheapest Liebherr (cited as a quality brand) is around £1300, whereas the Beko (cited as the best of the budget brands) is around £500… Is the Liebherr likely to last twice as long as a Beko? Are there any other advantages to a “quality” brand?
Any other brands worth looking at? Most sound like they are just re-badged cheapie anyway, so i might be better off buying a Haier or Hisense and crossing my fingers that it doesn’t break.

    Hi

If you look at a Liebherr and a Beko side by side (excuse the pun) the difference will be obvious. Will it last over twice the Beko life span? Probably will and some.

Liebherr also produce for Miele and are known to be the best you can get.

Actually, I obviously made a mistake when looking and the Liebherr is £1800, so is out of budget…
    Darn it!

For what it’s worth we have this Beko which is just over two years old. It’s a great machine, didn’t want water and ice as the ice/ water unit takes it away from the storage capacity.
