    My Whirlpool dryer normally behaves itself and does what it was bought to do. However, yesterday it has gone on strike and the drum will not turn. There is heat coming out of it so only the clothes at the bottom are getting dry.

    Any suggestions as to what can be safely done to get this machine running again quickly???

    Drive belt? Turn the drum by hand – if the belt is on there will be a fair bit of rfesistance; if very free the belt will have failed.

    Pull the plug before investigating further.
