Just had F-01 code on the washing machine which happened when it tried to access the spin cycle….. decided to take a look and checked all connectors were fitted correctly to start with… things started working for a few washes and then F-01 again..

Did cintinuity testing on main board 9-way connector to motor 7-way connector and found no link on Pin 5…… after a wiggle the system span and then F-02’ed… this was because the wire failed during cycle…

closer inspection of connection of wire into motor 7-way block revealed visible core and then snap… fell out totally…

I need to know where I can find a new 7-way motor connection block as I am guessing that there is not way I am going to be able to pull the existing crimps out and refit…

It isn’t listed as a spare part so you’re best bet is to phone Indesit customer spares and see if they can supply, it may well mean wiring loom complete though 🙁

    Contact details here – http://www.theservicecentre.co.uk

Don’t panic when you see Hotpoint all over the site, it’s the same company now 😉

.. tried that.. as I am not a registered engieer and purely a member of the public they cannot talk to me or supply the required item due to H&S regulations….

………. temp fix tho… used knife to cut connector in half and scratched away the terminal with the broken wire, fitted the now 2 connectors back where they belong and crimped a female blade onto the loose wire and pushed this into the gap between the connectors..

Works a treat… had to run the machine on a full empty cycle before it would work properly as I think my continuous power on/off confused it… F-02 was displayed half way through.. after a full empty wash cycle all now is back in order….
