This washing machine seems to be overfilling, used a mix 20deg wash, fills ok then few mins later it topped up with more water and even more water. Reached over halfway up the door with no end and I had to stop it. The call out was that it was leaking, this explained a possible overfilling with no end and causing a spill over.

The washing machine in question is AEG – just over two years old.

I replaced the pressure sensor and did not cure. I checked for blockage down the tube and it was clear.

Either the program got goosed or I overlooked something?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt

Not aware of pin hole, are you saying the (assuming you mean the rubber tube from the tub to the pressure sensor) tube has a split?

    sort of

if it was split then the air would never pressurize the switch but if its a small hole its possible to pressurize the system till it fills then lose pressure so machine refills even though its full

The rubber pressure pipe can rub away and create a nice hole that only appears under movement of the drum. Zanussi used to have this problem when they changed from the clear material to the black rubber one, and what a lovely little repair it was:)

It was indeed the pressure hose, as Kentish said it was the result of the drum movement between the clips. It was such a relief to be able to fix it, I tried to think of a solution to prevent a repeat but then decided against in case if they want me back in few years time…
