    Hi Zanussi oven ZOB230X 949712890.
Hello after some advice. I went out to fix a washer and the owner asked me what was making the loud noise on her oven and I told her it was the cooling fan.
Anyway She called me to ask me to change it, but I noticed when I was there the cooling fan came on as soon as the oven was turned on is this normal on one of these or should it come on after a certain temp is hit. # paranoid
    Many thanks.

Having looked at the information on connect it looks like the fan is switched on and off by the selector switch and does not have any form of thermostatic control. There is also a service bulletin that basically says that if the fan is excessively noisy then you can fit a dropper resistor (4055019139) in series with the fan if one is not already fitted.

    Thanks Jem.
Thats really useful. the question is do I just change the fan or dropper resister or both. Thinking fan because it was very loud. When you said you looked at connect is that Electrolux service or the supplier. Thankyou.

have emailed you the lux bulletin

you don’t give the last 2 digits of the pnc and this bulletin is not on all variants

It was Connect Distribution (the supplier). If it already has the dropper resistor then you do not need to change it, but if it does not have a dropper resistor then you have the option to add one which will make the cooling fan run slower and therefore reduce the noise output. If the fan has worn bearings then you will need to change the fan.

In the end I replaced the fan with the newer metal version and you have to change all the ducting as well.
I didn’t change the resistor as that’s just for the plastic fan.
    Many thanks.
