Indesit IDCE8450BH(UK) doesn’t stop when clothes are dry

I have an Indesit IDCE8450BH(UK) which works fine apart from it doesn’t stop as it should when clothes are dry. The timer says 00:01 and keeps tumbling. Any idea what could be the cause? I thought it could be the sensor strip (in the drum behind the filter). Replacements are available to buy but i can’t see how to remove it easily. Does anybody know how to do this? Am i barking up the right tree here, or could it be something else altogether?
