Suspect it is faulty. What should the resistance be at normal operating temperature (-18 to -24) approximately? I want to chop in a resistor or network of resistors until I can get a new part so to try and save our dwindling food supplies. #covid #desperate

putting resistors in wont work. if the resistance is fixed the board will think its at a particular temperature and will act as it should. if the resistance says its too warm it will constantly freeze. if it thinks its down to temp it will never come on

Thanks Dave. I’ve fitted a 47k potentiometer and set it to around 36K and defrosted the evaporator. Total guess. Currently it is chilling quite rapidly. I will keep you posted. The difference between a thermistor and a resistor isn’t at all lost on me, I just needed an apocalypse style temporary fix. I guess I could always whip the thermistor from the fridge side across if needs be.
