ParticipantHello all,
First time poster – hoping for a little help – thanks for taking the time to read this.I have a BEKO DW603 dishwasher which has recently failed – and given the COVID situation I’m reluctant to get someone in – nor do I really want to buy another one…
A few weeks ago i was putting it on only to find a while later i could hear the pump but nothing else.
Paying closer attention I observed that the cycle starts but after the initial empty cycle (about 90-120 seconds) the fill part does not happen. The machine then sits silently for a short while before the pump starts again for another 90-120 seconds. Once the pump starts for the second time, if i open the door the start light has gone off. Despite this, the pump will continue to run in 90 second spurts seemingly indefinitely. Turning the power off and back on enables you to reselects a programme.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
All of the programmes – same result
Powered off at the mains for 24hrs
Checked for water in the bottom pan – there is none
Replaced the micro switch operated by the polystyrene float in the bottom – didn’t resolve
Tried to figure out how to perform a test cycle as the info i found online didn’t work for this mode – I discovered that if you hold the start button then power on after a few seconds all the lights flash and then hitting start again and closing the door seems start a cycle of some sort – it sounds like it lets in some water and then runs the pump again – the P6 light is illuminated whilst this happens, but eventually it seems to get stuck in the same cycle of just running the pump on and off with he start light and pause light both flashingThis problem originally happened every now and then – Occurrences became more and more frequent to the point that this is now what happens pretty much by default – although when testing after swapping the microswitch, 1 in about 6 attempted cycles actually worked – suggesting in still just about intermittent and that whatever is failing is also working from time to time, albeit VERY rarely.
Thought I’d poll for some help before spending more on parts, or another dishwasher.
Thanks! 🙂

ParticipantHi Dave – thanks for the reply…
Finding it hard to tell – the wires are in a white / cream plastic cover so i can’t see them individually – or see a way to get the cover off…

ModeratorYou will need to cut it on one side and you will probably find one of the thin wires broken kai

ParticipantDave / Kai – you legends!
Did what you said and there was a broken wire (orange one) – repaired and tested and it’s now working – tried it 4/5 times and it’s worked every time.
Thanks so much for your help!!
Marcello.
