    Hi I’m looking for some help.

    my Hotpoint forno oven has been working fine until today. It randomly turned off halfway through cooking my dinner. As I opened the door it seemed a little smoky but nothing worse than normal. It stayed off for around 15 mins and then turned itself back on again. The cooling fan still runs whilst it’s I. This standby like mode but even the digital display is completely blacked out. Dead.

    just tried turning it on again and it was fine for 10 mins then just turned off again. Is the something I need to replace?

    Sorry. Cooling fan still runs whilst it’s in this standby like mode. unless I turn it off on the isolator.

    its probably the overheat stat

    on your oven when this opens everything is off except the cooling fan

    could be stat fault or a faulty connection causing heat in the stat which causes it to trip early
    obvoiusly this is an educated guess and i cant promise i am right

    Thanks Dave. I think I’m going to have to take it apart tomorrow and investigate.
