    Hello. This is my first post so apologies if the answer is already on the forum and I’ve failed to find it!

    Our Liebherr fridge has stopped working – interior light is still on when door open but compressor not running at any temperature control knob position.

    I’ve removed the thermostat (a RANCO K59-L2629) and tested it with a multi-meter. The continuity results are as follows for the three terminals marked 4, 6 & 3 when looking at the rear of the thermostat with terminal 4 on the left, terminal 6 in the centre and terminal 3 on the right.
    With control knob off: No connection between any terminal.
    With control knob on (any setting): T4-T6 No connection; T6-T3 Connection; T4-T3 No connection.

    I think this could indicate a faulty thermostat but just wondered if anybody could confirm this?

    Hi John, the single brown wire should be your live supply, twin browns are for light and heater if fitted, black is live supply to compressor with thermostat in on position, join the single brown to the black spades together and turn on mains the comp should start confirming stat failure, part number 6151803.

    Hi Tony. Just as you said – comp working fine when black/brown wires joined. Many thanks once again.
