Hi guys, hoping you guys can shed a little light on the reason for my washing machine tripping the RCD. After replacing the mains filter, checking and securing every cable and connection I could access yet it still trips. Usually after a few minutes into the cycle: 1spin, hot and cold cycles.

Not sure if this is relevant but I’ve noticed when I return it to its home under the work surface, pushing on the front causes it to make a strange beep?

Thankyou in advanced, after 4 hours today of repeatedly removing the hex nuts with a ridiculously large pair of pliers only to have it trip again is sent me round the bend

most common component on any dishwasher to trip is the heater

Hey Dave, thanks for your reply.

The washing machine will complete a cycle without any clothes in, only trips when there is something in the drum.

    Cheers

could be a leak that only happens when there is clothes it. probably above the waterline so it only leaks when clothes splash water around

could be worn brushes ( if it has them) that spark more when there is a weight in

will move this ti the washer forum

    Thanks Dave,

This model doesnt have any brushes and there appears to be no evidence of a leak.

electical tester shows the element to be working correctly… the machine is only around a year old

what you have to remember is the leak could be 1 drip onto a live part ant it would take your trip.

or under load a connection will arc

these can be hard faults to find
