ParticipantHi guys,
Hope this finds you all safe and well in lockdown.
We were trapped abroad for 3 weeks due to Covid-19 and have just made it home. When attempted to wash the dishes last night, our trusted Bosch SHV55M03GB/40 drain pump kept running and it won’t start. This happened before and the machine run fine after I had cleared the water in the base. I did this again and have also found that the drain pipe was half clogged so have cleared that as well.
I thought I did a good job and felt quite good but when I tried to put on the machine, it drained for a couple of minutes then the house surge protection was tripped as soon as the main program started. I have tried every program but they all behaved the same.
The machine is over 10 years old so probably have reached the end of its life cycle. However, money is tight at the moment and I wonder if there is any way that I can keep it going for another few months.
Thanks a lot in advance,

Moderatorit may be dampness underneath
get a desk fan and with the lower cover off blow cold air in there for a few hours and hope it dries out
also these units may be old but are 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} better than anything they make today. Well worth repairing if the fault is not too eapensiveDave

ParticipantGot a Baumatic BDIN1L38B-80 Fully Integrated Standard Dishwasher which costed half the price as Bosch. I have always believed buy cheap buy twice but when money is tight, there aren’t a lot of choices. The Bosch lasted 12 years and let’s see how long this last.

Moderatorto be honest the bosch build quality is not what it was
Baumatic were taken over by the the gias group after they went bust. The gias group owned hoover and candy brands. Recently Haier a chinese manufacturer bought them. They work ok but some parts can be a bit priceyDave
