Beko dw686 long drain cycle, not starting fill cycle

The machine drains, but this is longer than usual. Probably 40seconds. Draining out- tested by pouring water into floor of machine then checking to see that it has gone-is ok
after the drain. Then nothing else happens. A minute or two later the drain cycle starts again.
I’ve checked the float underneath and there is no water and float seems ok. Any advice/solutions? Thanks.
