HI, I have a BEKO GL22APS (American style fridge freezer) that is about 7 years old. It stopped cooling and obviously defrosted then got warm. At the time, there was no compressor noise (no clicks, no hum), so i checked the starter relay (with a shake) and got the dreaded clicking when shaken indicating that was gone. For belt and braces, i did the Ohms checks across the pins on the compressor and got 12.2 Ohms Start to Run, 8.8 Ohms Start to common and 3.4 Ohms Common to Run which would indicate the compressor is good i think.

I then replaced the starter and thermal cut out and now get humming from the compressor, the fridge and freezer both start to cool, then get warm overnight with the compressor clicking on and off every couple of minutes.

Looking at the compressor fan, this does not appear to be running at all. Can anybody advise if this is set to run all the time, or just when the compressor is on?, and would this cause the symptoms above?

Armed with this i can then check the plug to see when / if i get voltage present. Also, if this fan needs replacing Beko Freezer fan motor 4391660185 is shown as the part required, but Beko Fan Motor 4850081285 has identical rating of 220v ~ 50Hz but with a different connector?. Would this work as a replacement (Significantly cheaper). Any advise gratefully received. Many Thanks, Chris

I would say no don’t fit it

by the looks of it the proper motor is electronically driven so will have a lower power and since its electronic it has a lower inductance. you cant be certain the electronics are capable of driving the other motor without damage as this motor is a shaded pole induction motor

As for the motor running its possible it will only run when the condenser gets hot but I am not certain.
