That’s a hard one.
Technically you’ve got a “reasonable” period to inspect and so on the goods and after that they are deemed as “accepted” legally, which is generally considered to be measured in days. Weeks and months later you really have lost the right to reject it on grounds of suitability etc, even if there was an error on the retailer or your part. You could try to fight it but probably the cost to do so would be far greater than the cost of the hood and, you’d be unlikely to succeed.
The current pandemic wouldn’t really have any bearing on the ability to inspect and, from Feb, that’s some weeks before the country went into lockdown on the 23rd March.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I really don’t think you’ve got much hope here. 🙁
