Zanussi ZWH 7148 P, it came with an unfurnished let so saved me buying a washing machine. We had a problems with out power supply overnight, including a surge, although I’m not sure if that’ll have done anything.

It is not overloaded, and I can close the door firmly. However, when I set the program and press START, nothing happens. The light on the Start/Pause button remains lit, if I switch to another program I get the “Err” as I would if the program had begun. but nothing happens. There is no other error messages or beeps, it’s as if I haven’t closed the door properly although I have done firmly. The child safety lock is off. Is there anything else I can check?

just checked and you unit seems to have a brush motor. on some machines when thje brushes fail it can cause this fault. could just be coincidence it went off after your power problem.
