Hello. I hope that someone has experienced a similar problem, managed to solve it and is happy to share. The FF is 3.5 years old and has a 2 year guarantee – neither Haier nor the retailer have yet responded to my request. This is a four door model with two freezer drawers beneath and a pair of fridge doors. When we open the left door it trips the electrical circuit but runs again when the RCD is reset. N.B. it only does this with the left door. I may be jumping to conclusions but there is a vertical door strip attached to this left door which apparently includes a heating thread and I’m wondering if an issue with the thread (or moisture getting into the door strip – one of the two hinges doesn’t appear to be fully formed) may be at the root…….. Thanks for any suggestions.
Different model – same problem. Issue is door strip: wire inside gets worn out over time due to continuous tiny movements as touching metal element inside and start causing short circuiting. Solution: unscrew (2 screws at the center), lift up and disconnect vertical strip (wiring is in middle section), open it up and isolate affected wire with thick tape. Re-assemble and put it back – viola!
We have the same problem with fridge / freezer model HB16FMAA.
I can unscrew the 2 screws at the centre, but I am not sure how to remove the door strip from the hinges. It looks like there are plastic blocks that need to be removed to allow the door strip to drop down off the hinges?
If you have the same / similar model to us, I wonder if you could offer any further insight into how to remove the strip from the hinges?
