Hi I have a Hotpoint FDFSM 31111P which is leaking from the air break & turbine. I took it off and used sealant to seal it to the tub but it’s not leaking from that seal, water is spurting through it and getting out through the open bits. The water is not running smoothly through it but a spurt of pressure roughly once a second. It still leaks if I turn the water supply right down. Has this been caused by the customer putting soda crystals in the salt container by mistake?
    Thanks, Darren

    thats a hard one
looked for a service manual but not one listed against that model

there is a tube going to the softner. if you blow down this does it seem clear

what worries me is the spurting. does it seem that the water flow is changing or a blockage is causing it to overflow

was wondering if the tube to the softner allows water flow when filled so helps to take the water flow away

Thanks for getting back to me Dave I’ll go back and check that hose.
The spurting is strange it is not overflowing, more a high speed shot of water which shoots to the top of the air break where it joins the tub and leaks out of the openings in it.

does the water flow into the machine seem to change or is that look constant? From what your saying it almost seems like the valve is opening and closing which is very weird

Yes that’s how it seems, it’s a burst of water roughly once a second which leaks even if turn the tap for the water supply very low.
    Its really strange
