Hi All Our Ariston front loader stops part way through the wash cycle. All the leds on the front panel flash. I have to power off to clear it.
Saw a couple of videos on youtube about a common capacitor that ruptures on the module board. I fixed that today. Same fault occured.
Have cleared the pump outlet from the drum all the way through the pump and outlet pipe. So thats all good.
It will complete a spin cycle and pumps water out the outlet. But nothing else.
I’m wondering if this is a fault code for no heating or something else but cant find anything online for all lights flashing. Can anyone help before I have to spend a heap of money on another washer.

Interesting.. its just done a cold wash cycle without fault. Going to check the element later. Anything else I should look at while I’m in there??

So its not the heating element or the temp sensor. They all meter out ok.
Talking to myself here 🙂 ah well

All lights flashing was a very common fault caused by the largest of the three capacitors that are close together in the middle of the board. Did you use the correct capacitor and even more important did you ensure correct polarity when replacing?

Hi iadom Thanks for the reply. Yes its exactly the same Cap and correct polarity. I’m not convinced about that issue. The lights aren’t flickering as i’ve seen in some youtube vids. They seem to be too rhythmic. Makes me think its a fault thats been detected.
The pump doesn’t seem to have much flow to it. Wondering if it isn’t emptying quick enough and its going into error.

If ALL the lights are flashing that is not a specific error code. Generally the pump either works or it doesn’t. Poor flow is always due to an obstruction somewhere. However even a drain time out would give a specific error code.

PS. Did you test the heating element for insulation as well as resistance and continuity?

resistance was 27.5 ohms but i didn’t check to earth . Schoolboy error. Its just going through a hot wash cycle to see where it fails. will check it once it does.
I’ve got the outlet hose out so i can see the flow on emptying.

I’m retired now but changed loads of those capacitors, had around a 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} success rate. Tbh the Indesit electronics in this machine have been rather poor for many years. Not sure if I still have any tech on this machine on my main PC, will have a look later.

Thanks for your input mate. Its doing a hot wash now and the waters heated so not the element. Nothing like watching a wash cycle for boredom 🙂

If I was to add together all the hours I spent watching clothes going round in the approx 48 years in the trade it would amount to weeks or even months.:(

well its done a full cycle on heat and not failed. The pump sounds like it struggling. Flow very weak Wondering if the ball in the outlet pipe is sticking and starving it of water. Or the pumps buggered.
Will pull it off tomorrow and take a look. No flashing lights though.. progress 🙂

That type of pump is prone to failing with age, if it is making a grinding sort of noise then it would be a good idea to replace it, not an expensive item. If the pump impellor has any side to side movement then it’s goosed.

well based on an hour a day, 5 days a week, and 50 weeks ( will let you have 2 weeks holiday lol) thats 250 hours a year
add in 48 years and thats 12000 hours which is 500 days
