    Hi,

So yesterday I went into the fridge compartment of my fridge/freezer and saw that the temp was at 9 degrees, over the next hour it was steadily increasing.
i pulled it forward to see if anything visually was wrong and it looked ok but then I’m not trained in any of this! The compressor was very hot to the touch, I turned everything off at the plug for about 10 seconds then turned it back on again, when looking at the temps again it showed it had jumped 5 degrees to 16 degrees.

Just to point out everything is appearing normal, no warnings, freezer was working perfectly etc. I did a little research from here and checked for icing up etc all I could see in the fridge was slight if droplets on the rear wall of the fridge, I do put herbs in a low level of water in the fridge if this has any effect on that.

After leaving it pulled out by about 2 foot from the wall and 24 hours later it seems to be working perfectly, holding temps etc. I’ve been told it could possibly have been overheating from the weather? I’ve no idea but hoping someone here has some ideas. The fridge/freezer is 3 years old out of interest.

    Thankyou!

A fridge is a device to move heat, thats why the system is known as a heat pump. It takes heat from inside and discharges it at the rear in most units. The warmer the temp goes the hard it has to work to get rid of this heat. so yes lack of airflow can cause problems. if it get realy hot think about blowing some air around it with a small fan
