    Hotpoint Oven SY36X serial number is 505170090 03287230400
    Can anyone help with finding the age of the oven please?

    from what i can see i would say approx 15 years old. The instruction manual is dated 2007

    I know there is a way of telling from the serial no but not sure on this model

    why ?
    depends what is wrong with it, and the general condition of the unit

    Thanks Dave.

    The general condition is fine. There is play in the Fan Motor shaft so the fan is hitting the fan cover when spinning. Not sure how expensive it will be to get someone to replace the fan motor. Replacement fan motors seem to be available online.

    look at the cover first. make sure the middle has not been pushed in. after that you can look at the fan blades. if they are catching you can bend them a little bit back or forward so the miss.

    also if your ok with diy its a really easy fit to put in a new motor
