We have a customer with a Bosch SMS25EW00G (still under warranty) that emits a plastic/chemical/glue smell when in use. Has anyone else come across this or know what might be causing it? We don’t want to involve BSH under guarantee until we can identify the problem and ensure the customer won’t get charged for a visit.
    Thanks in advance

Fallen for this before, you need to make sure you hear the “click” when plugging it in at the rear.

Thanks guys – the plug was in correctly. I spoke with BSH who told me it was the bitumen insulation and that it would fade over time – the customer has said it has now gone so this seems to have been the problem. The smell was pretty potent for a couple of weeks but it appears to be a known issue with BSH.
