    Hi

I purchased a Hotpoint FFUL1913P and after a few years of running fine it now fails to cool the freezer/fridge. The evaporator fan is kicking in fine but it is blowing warm air, lights inside work fine but I cannot here the compressor.

The compressor fails to start, I pulled out the the starting capacitor and tested it for continuity but it failed, however the combination relay rattles when I shake it so im wondering if that is also failed – it rattles because the connection prongs are loose (if i hold them tight no rattle) but the continuity test comes back fine when I insert the prongs into the 2 holes on the front? I ordered the starting capacitor as I was able to get an exact match but I could not source an exact match for the relay.

Picture of the relay I have: https://photos.app.goo.gl/s8GCXNEVSagBqcaL8 (model 6SP1927)

Similar one I found on the internet:

Im wondering if these parts are the same or are the internals completely different? I tried on the Hotpoint website but could not find anything for sale.

The starting capacitor has not arrived yet but I hope that will fix the issue, if not am I right in trying to source a relay/PTC for this or do I need to diagnose something else?

    Many thanks.
