    Hi.Samsung washing machine.
This machine is doing something strange. Start the machine on, say spin, machine starts up fine could run for 3 to 4 minutes ( OR EVEN A COMPLETE CYCLE ) and the the display goes dead SOMETIMES, as though the fuse has gone but it hasn`t. The machine will then mysteriously restart itself after a few minutes or in 30 minutes. The mains lead does not reach the socket so it is plugged into an extension lead which is where I first thought where the problem might have originated from but I proved this not to be the case by plugging in one of those socket ( main 3 lights on = ok ) tester into one of the spare extension lead`s plug sockets – when the machine goes dead it still shows power from the mains socket to the extension`s socket bank. I did change the moulded plug to the actual machine but that has made no difference. With the lid off I thought it might have been the suppressor fooling about but that tests out ok. To replicate the problem if the motor`s plug is pulled out there is no display but I cannot see any loose wires or pushed out tags to the motor and the wiring loom seems fine AND the motor brushes are perfect. The only thing is perhaps a failing input power module chip? My question basically boils down to: is this a common problem with Samsung and if so any idea what the problem is caused by? Thx.

it does sound like a board problem

the trouble with samsung is the sealed boards which means chip changes are out
what i would do is a bit of experimentation
you need to find a voltage you can test on the board to see if its dissapeared when it goes off

have to be careful what i say as you have posted in a public forum
