We recently got a smeg oven with some cool settings. One of these is a rotisserie with a matching kit, and we have no idea how to use it. It has something called a variable grill, when you put it on the rotisserie setting you then adjust the intensity of the grill with a knob…. a completely featureless knob. The intensity knob has a thin-to-fat line that indicates how “intense” the heat is. The issue is I have no idea what temperature is where on the knob. If I want to rotisserie a chicken at 200c i have no way of knowing where on the knob that even is. Every recipe i can find online for rotisserie chicken has a temperature and time and i can’t set a damn temperature! I’ve looked everywhere online for tutorials, checked the user manual for this and other types of smeg oven, and even called customer support. How on earth do I use a variable grill rotisserie?!

you not setting a temperature your setting how hot the element is. if its too hot it will brown too quick, too cool and it will take days to cook

    so experiment and see
