    Hello!

First time poster, long term reader. I hope that you’re all well?

I have a Smeg dishwasher DI613ATP – which, frankly, in its first two years of life has been rubbish – cutlery baskets and interior plastics have broken/ bent and it required service in its first week as the internal hoses hadn’t been properly connected. (This isn’t a rant, I promise!)

Last night it threw a 6 error code, indicating a drain problem. Sure enough, the bottom was full of water.

I’ve cleared the filter of of debris and muck (there wasn’t much) and tried it again. Nothing.
I’ve tried a manual PO (presume ‘pump out’) cycle and also nothing.

Ive unhooked the drain from the U bend and let the water drain by gravity, so it looks as if there’s no blockage?

Before I pull it out to see if there’s a blockage at the other end of the line (it’s integrated), given that it’s draining via gravity (it drains right from the filter inside) is this a good sign that the drain pump has gone?

Its making no noise when attempting to drain either on a programme or on a PO cycle.

Then, given it’s been trouble since day one, what’s the collective advice? Get a new pump or replace the darned thing?

    Thank you in advance
    Dan.

have you checked the pump for debris like glass etc

I think on smeg this can be done by removing the lower cover so you dont have to remove the unit . mop all water out of the sump before removing the pump and unplug machine

    Dave,

That was exactly it. Basically the whole thing is screw-less so a flat head screw driver is all it took.

And the offending item was a piece of glass in the pump! Never buying cheap glasses again!

thank you very much – that has saved our Sunday!

    Have a great day!
    Dan.
