Hello
As mentioned in the subject, my washing machine is shaking violently when it is on the rinse cycle.
It sounds as though something (maybe the drum) is banging against the inside of the machine.
This actually settles down when the machine moves onto spin when I thought it would have got worse.
I filmed this so I could send it to a washing machine repairer before he/she came out but as it’s after midnight (why do these problems always happen at this time??), I won’t be able to get in touch with anyone straight away.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what this might be?
I would attach a video of it shaking but I don’t know if that’s possible on this forum.

UPDATE: Despite this, I decided (foolishly) to do another load of washing when the first one was finished.
Although it made a bit of noise, it was nothing like the first time. I did a third load as well and that was also OK.
I think it may have been an uneven load but it really was shaking and making quite a racket.

Thanks. These are the videos, they are all from the same load being washed.
It was actually louder than it appears in the videos.
As you can see it eases off in the later videos and I was able to wash another 2 loads after this one.
The machine should be levelled using the feet on a hard floor. But even so, something seems wrong in those videos, especially the first two.
I am guessing the machine isn’t new, as it looks like an older model. Show the videos to whoever you bought it from and them to either fix it or refund you.
well i would check shock absorbers first and check the concrete weights are tight
take the lid off. put you hands con the drum and push it down and then leg go
try so see if you can do this quickly. if the shocks are ok it wont do it too easily but if they are shot it will bounce like a balli assume its quiet when there is no washing in

I personally think that the drum has gone on your machine mainly the drum support that isn’t available only the drum its self like dave said I would do a quick check on suspension but I’m 95 percent sure its the drum

Thanks for your response. You’re right, it is an old machine and I’ve had it since 2006 so I think it’s too old to be asking for a refund.

I don’t know anything about machines and I saw in another YouTube clip that people were advised not to take the lid off the machine.
If there is something wrong, I certainly wouldn’t be able to fix it.
Would it be better if I got someone to have a look at it?
Given the age of that machine I know it has probably been really reliable I personally wouldn’t bother i would look at replacing it due to the cost of fixing it

I’m sorry for not replying sooner. I’ve been away and not had the computer with me that has the login details saved on it.
Based on what you’ve seen, how much is likely to cost to get it fixed?
as with all repairs it depends on whats broken
post the Enr number complete should be something like wae24166gb/34
plus the Fd number
