ParticipantI’ve looked at a few pages on how to age a Hotpoint machine, and none seem to match with mine.
There is only one label on mine and it has a number of numbers on it.
MOD WMEF 742P (the model)
TYPE LB2006TRF followed by FWMP5ITR1400 (is this the serial ?)With 30813100195 08 725 411158888 on the barcode
So has anyone any idea which is the serial and how to decode it please?
Thanks!

ParticipantThank you no I didn’t know that. Just checked and my machine needs sorting.
Hmm – I bought it used – will that matter?

Moderatori dont think so because you still have a dangerous machine
but as far as i know you should be offered a replacement and that would be good as you bought a used machine and you may well end up with a new oneDave

Moderatorthink i would be economical with the truth
dont tell them more than you have to after all they dont know
could be a gift, you could have bought it off someone a while ago etc
but unless they ask and if they do say you dont know and see what happens
there is always the chance the original owner registered the purchase so dont go silly as they may have a record but probably not as they would have written to the last owner
