    hotpoint/gen electric dishwasher timer sticking at number 10-11 i have had timer reconditioned and replaced heater even though it tested ok and replaced reset stat but it sticks at this point and washes for hours .
    starting to pull my hair out now please help! ❓

    BF51 hilly ?

    I can’t find that model listed, only BF50, how old is it ?

    BF50 is a Brandt unit, there is a DF51 which is Bosch.

    its about three yrs old its badged general domestic bf51 its same as diplomat/hygena/hotpoint

    Any idea of a Diplomat model number since I can look that up?

    Or is it maybe a Yank GDA one?

    ive been to quite a few machines built the same as this recently and replaced heaters and seals there was a stoves/newhome and gen dom app bf41. if thats any help
    very impresed with the site so far

    Nope, I’ve trawled the stuff I have here and I can’t see anything at all. 😕

    Googled it to death as well with no results either.

    Ah, in that case they are the Brandt one’s, BF41 definitely is 😉

    I would ask the customer what detergent they are using, these were originally sold by MFI with the pitch of “use only 3-in-1 tablets by “x” which proved useless as they overfoamed and caused nuisance tripping of the heater TOC and various other problems with the pressure system.

    The one you’ve fitted the TOC to may have tripped again perhaps ?

    thanks i will ask customer about detergent. i only replaced toc after talking to another engineer apparently he had one that welded the contacts together inside. it hasnt tripped out so i replaced it just to try

    ive spoken to customer they have used the 3 in 1 tablets for about 18 months but they were still putting salt in up until a month ago

    think i might set fire to it soon


    any more ideas would be appreciated

    Tell them to try it empty with no detergent at all and see what happens 😉
