Keymasterhi all,
I’ve just moved into a flat which was fitted with a Select 610 Oven. It all work fabulously apart from the grill. No matter how many different ways I turn the dial, all that comes on is something at the very back of the oven.
Any advice welcome! My mail address is: csidarkangel@hotmail.com
Thanks!

What is coming on is the fan element, so you aren’t selecting the grill by the sound of it.
No user manual I assume ?
On the selector switch, it should have various symbols, the grill one will have something like vvvvv then turn the thermostat on and it should work.
If it doesn’t there may be something wrong with the oven, ie grill element has failed.
Let us know how you get on 😀

Hiya,
Thanks for the prompt response!I am selecting the VVVV symbol, but the grill just gets slightly warmed.
When the oven is on, the grill does come on from time to time then to keep the temp up.
Is it worth getting someone out to take a look?
Thanks!

OK, I think the grill element has failed, it’s basically two elements in one, the outer is used as the upper heat for the oven in static mode (no fan) is it a fan assisted oven by the way ?
Model number would be usefull now, check around the foor for something like AHY??? APL???
Or, as you say, ask an engineer to call, repairs@ and the directories should help there 😀

Hiya,
No sign of a model number. However, I believe it is AHY33 (fan assisted oven).
How much do you think it would cost to get this fixed?
Thanks!

‘Fraid that’s only part of it and will cover a range of machines. The label may well be on the roof of the casing, so the oven must be slipped forward out of the housing. Be very careful if this is a double oven – they are extremely heavy.

Now I’m confused, all of the AHY33?? varients are fan assisted with a single grill which means that the grill element shouldn’t come on at all while the oven is on 😕
Grill element (if it’s gone) is circa £25 inc VAT, labour rates vary, but somewhere between £45 and £60 for the labour/call is average.

I need to replace the grill element in a Diplomat Select 610 oven – can you tell me where I might get one ?
Also, I’m concerned that if I remove the single fixing screw to get the
element out, whatever this screws
into will drop down behind the back of the oven.Brian

Brian, I answered your email yesterday where you aksed exactly the same question if I recall correctly.
Please provide the model number – AHY??? from around the oven door or on the top of the oven.
Thanks.
Dave.

Unfortunately, I can’t trace the rest of the model number. The unit is too well fixed into the kitchen cabinet to move.

OK, open the oven door, on each side there will be either one or two screws going throught the frame in to the kitchen cabinet, remove those and it will slide forward 😀

That’s the one
The grill element is £39.74 inc VAT and delivery.
An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk if you’d like one Brian.
