    My Hotpoint S16874S81X oven, which is about 2 years old has twice randomly power itself off when I’ve turned it on to pre-heat ready to cook. A complete power failure and reset, as in, the display turns-off and after a few seconds, comes back on in a default setting I.E. Clock resets to 12:00 etc.
    I’ve down powered the oven via the fused switch and restarted with no immediate luck. Just does the same thing, comes on, starts to heat up and then the power goes off. This will happen a few times but after a while and for no apparent reason it stays on and acts as normal. The last time it happened was approximately 3 weeks ago and then yesterday.
    Any Hotpoint wizard out there have a clue what maybe causing this.

    first i would check all electrical connections to the oven

    if its plugged into a 13A socket try another one
