    Hi,

    We have just moved into a house and inherited a CDA CW494 from the previous owners.

    However, when we run any of the cycles they run for significantly longer than the specified cycle time (e.g. 8 hours vs cycle time of 1 hour) and more recently do not complete the cycle and even after 12 hours, have not cleaned a single item (capsule not dissolved but clasp is open). Furthermore, when this happens, the dishwasher runs continuously until it is stopped by turning off the machine upon opening.

    Can this be rectified or should I invest in a new dishwasher?

    these old whirlpool units had a habit of breaking wires inside the door at the bottom

    remove door outer and check

    be carefull as a lot of the wires are the same colour so if you go in too quick you could end up not knowing which connects to which

    carefully open the cover
