    Hi there,
Just joined forum so this is my first post, we recently renovated out kitchen and bought our first integrated washer dryer……first mistake.
We had always had separate units of a good quality and never had issues apart from odd breakdown which was always covered.
With the kitchen we bought a good quality Hotpoint washer dryer if the heat pump type and we absolutely despise it……drying for 3hrs and still not dry and also creased to hell…..used to put our vented one on for 45 mins and things would be dry with virtually no creases!

So time has come to get rid, but we don’t really have space for 2 units.
I’ve looked everywhere and never found a vented integrated washer dryer, can you also not get a integrated condenscondenser WD??

there used to be vented washer dryers but not anymore

problem with your dryer is energy saving. it saves on energy by not using heat. heat helps get creases out of clothes and can dry things faster

you will never get the drying speed from a condensor that you can from a vented dryer also a washer dryer can only dry a reduced load due to drum size

if you want quality you want miele but you could look at smeg. but integrated units are always dearer

if you want cheap alternative look at Beko as they have a 2 year warranty

Not a Smeg dryer, just don’t.

They don’t make any, they’re all bought in and rebranded. Explanation of that here, a lot of dryers are rebrands as hardly anyone makes them really as they’re only a Northern European/North America and bits of Australasia thing, not widely used outside that other than commercially.

Lot’s a Smeg stuff is good, but not that.

are you talking dryers only or washer dryers that was the subject of this thread ?

Both, some of the newer machines have been bought in.

The actual Smeg made ones are okay but washer dryers are, IMO, bad news in any event.

So…are the condenser washer dryers available with the cartridge you empty?…..we just hate this heat pump thing!

there is no point in having a draw you empty when the machine has a drain pump. Also on washer dryers they use a small amount of water that trickles in so a draw would fill up pretty quickly

So are vented washer dryers not an option? I’ve found some American ones but V expensive!

I just want dry clothes….not clothes slightly damp after 3 hrs drying…..
