ParticipantHi Guys I have searched the internet and only got scant details about the fault I have with my dryer, it switches on OK and does the usual stuff but about 10-15 seconds into a cycle it displays the fault code tE4 and stops. I believed this is a fault with the thermistor for the steam generator, as it is the only thing I have found on the web, but have put a meter on it and it shows a resistance of about 85Kohms reducing as it gets warmer so I think it is fine, checked the resistance at the motherboard on the side of the machine, this was the same and re-seated the connection which made no difference.
Any other ideas would be gratefully received.
Thanks

ParticipantThanks for that Dave, another part of my problem is finding an exploded drawing of this model to help locate the parts that need checking/replacing, I have spoken LG and they don’t even have a copy, they referred me to a third party website with an image of a similar unit but not the same! I will try and find where the high temp thermistor is unless you can help with that at all.
Cheers

Moderatorwell at a guess, since the highest temps are likley to be above the heater, i would look there first

ParticipantOK so have tested the high temp thermistor and this is working OK, can’t trace it back to the main PCB as it disappears into the loom and I can’t tell which wires correspond to the thermistor at that end so a bit lost now, could the tE4 code refer something else? I believe there is another thermistor for the EVA in but cant find that one?

Moderatorwhat an EVA ?
there may be an exhaust thermistor at the front

ParticipantI do not know what the Eva is it shown on the similar machines service manual but it omits to tell me where it is or what it is? I think it may be the evaporator in side, but still don’t know where this is.
I’ll see if I can find it on the front. If not I may have to get an engineer in as I have gone as far as I think I can.
