How do i turn off the freezer to defrost if there is no plug socket even underneath it’s an old diplomat 6842 and i cannot find a manual online for it. i’m positive the last time cleaned the fridge and all it was turned off. the rcd controller is in a cupboard but on it there is no freezer only cooker lighting and i think heating. i have one draw of freezer sitting in living room as it that frosted the door wouldn’t shut. this has even puzzled my mum who rented out her own flat for years. urgent help needed. thank you

Well it has to be there somewhere 😀

You need to think a little outside “the box” If there is no socket or isolation switch under it, then something must be over it or to the side or even behind it!! If you cannot find anything you could switch off the sockets at the fuse board in order to defrost. Not ideal but it would get the job done.

    Good luck

I know right. I’m beginning to think just the other day that I may indeed have to turn off switch at the fuse board which must of been how it was last done but actually can not remember. Thank you 😡
